Celebrity Chef Night Volume 3

Once again, our friend Guy Fieri was kind enough to donate his time and energy to help us put on a benefit dinner. This year we decided that the beneficiary would be the kindergarten. They have been trying to raise funds to build a new kitchen.

We also decided to go with an Asian theme as we did last year....Starting with Spring Rolls in a peanut sauce drizzled with sweet and sour sauce and then a main plate with Mongolian Beef, Hong Kong Noodles with ginger marinated Chicken and BBQ Pork Fried Rice.

This is what the final product looked like:

It started with a long day of prepping with many hands cleaning shredding, dicing, mincing, etc....16 kilos of chicken 16 kilos of beef....a zillion bell peppers, ginger, garlic, green onions...

Guy's dad Jim and son Hunter put in a really long day....

 The calm before the storm...

Getting the fried rice ready...we cooked 5 kilos of rice....

We did around 80 dinners in two seatings.

Guy made the girls come out to take a bow towards the end of the evening

Guy with Emma, Marta and Alma.

Hopefully, with the contribution we made to the kinder, they can get going on the kitchen and have a nice facility to turn out meals for the little ones...mil gracias to Guy and the entire staff for making this a great evening.

I've been to Palapa Joes a few times and it's always been a great experience. I live in Santa Rosa CA where Guy's place is and I'm so excited to see what he's done in La Manzanilla!! You go Guy!!
